Why It Matters

Too many approvals slow operators without adding control. Too few approvals leave material action without accountable ownership.

The boundary depends on consequence, reversibility, and how much context the operator actually has at the moment of decision.

Signals Of A Healthy Boundary

  • The system explains why a decision required intervention.
  • Override rationale remains with the record when the default path is bypassed.
  • Operators do not reconstruct context from raw logs before acting.
